Matthew R. Tuneski
Assistant Athletic Director for Middle School | Middle School Baseball CoachÂ
Matthew Tuneski joined Westminster in 2025 as Assistant Athletic Director for Middle School, Middle School Baseball Coach, and lead for the Middle School Student-Athletic Advisory Committee. Originally from the East Coast, Matt brings over a decade of experience as an educator, coach, and leader in student life and athletics.
Before joining Westminster, Matt served in a variety of impactful roles at McDonogh School in Maryland from 2014 to 2024. Most recently, he was the 7th Grade Dean, where he led academic and behavioral support for students, facilitated weekly student-of-concern meetings, and served as a key liaison for parents and faculty. His leadership extended into the admissions office, where he helped shape the incoming student body by conducting interviews and leading campus tours as a Middle School Admissions Partner.
In the classroom, Matt taught 7th Grade U.S. History and Humanities, building engaging curriculum and fostering strong student-teacher relationships. On the field, he was the Head Varsity Baseball Coach for eight years, leading McDonogh to a 2023 MIAA Championship—its first since 1992—and earning MIAA and MSABC Coach of the Year honors. He also directed summer baseball camps and coached multiple middle school teams across basketball, football, and soccer. As a campus resident and parent, Matt was deeply embedded in school life, mentoring students beyond academics and athletics.
At Westminster, Matt supports all aspects of Middle School Athletics, oversees the Middle School Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and coaches baseball. He is passionate about character development, leadership education, and creating inclusive, team-oriented environments where students thrive.
