John Wesley Huffines, MS, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer

John Wesley Huffines has served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Westminster since 2017, providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes across all sports. In addition to supporting daily practices and competitions, he educates athletes on nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits, communicates with families and medical professionals, and has been instrumental in developing Westminster’s concussion management protocols.

Prior to Westminster, John Wesley gained experience as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Georgia State University, providing medical coverage for more than 80 athletic teams and club sports. He has also worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for American National Combines and Concord Fire Soccer Club, where he provided emergency coverage and coordinated medical care at high-level events and tournaments. His clinical background includes rotations with the University of Georgia’s football, baseball, and swimming and diving programs, as well as Apalachee High School.
