Donna K. Boyd, MS, ATC, LAT
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Donna Boyd joined Westminster in 2022 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, bringing more than 40 years of experience in athletic training, education, and sports medicine. She provides injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes across all sports while collaborating with coaches, families, and medical professionals to ensure comprehensive and individualized care. Donna is known for her ability to develop athletes holistically—mentally, physically, emotionally, and psychologically.
Prior to Westminster, Donna served in a wide range of collegiate, professional, and secondary school settings. She has worked as an athletic trainer for the USTA Pro Circuit, providing medical coverage for adult and junior professional tennis players, and supported athletes through outreach roles with Delta Airlines and FedEx. Donna spent nearly 20 years at Hoover City Schools in Alabama, where she was Head Athletic Trainer for all sports, taught anatomy and wellness courses, developed a comprehensive sports medicine program, and was recognized as both State Health Educator of the Year and Coach of the Year (1999). She has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Montevallo and the University of Alabama, teaching kinesiology, health, and athletic training. Her experience includes clinical work in pedorthics, specializing in foot and ankle evaluation.
