Sharon Loughran
Aquatic Coordinator | Swimming and Diving Head of Program
Sharon Loughran joined Westminster in 2017 and serves as Aquatic Coordinator, Head Coach for Varsity Girls’ Soccer, and Head Coach for Varsity Swimming. An accomplished and award-winning coach with more than 30 years of experience, she has led Westminster teams to multiple state championships in both swimming and soccer.
In 2022–23, Sharon was named NHSCA National Coach of the Year for Girls Swimming and earned recognition from the GACA, GHSSCA, and NFHS as State Coach of the Year after guiding the Wildcats to the GHSA Girls Swimming and Diving State Championship. On the soccer field, she has led Westminster to eight consecutive state titles and was named United Soccer Coaches National Coach of the Year in 2022. Her career also includes numerous Coach of the Year honors at the state, regional, and national levels across both sports.
Prior to Westminster, Sharon spent three decades in the Cobb County School System as a physical education teacher and coach, guiding championship programs in both swimming and soccer. She has also coached at the Olympic Development, Region III, high school, and club levels in soccer, and at the masters, AAU, high school, and summer league levels in swimming.
