Boys Basketball Head of ProgramĀ 

Matt Hixenbaugh is in his second year as Head of the Boys Basketball Program at Westminster, while also serving as Director of Upper School Admissions and as a member of the Upper School history faculty. In his first year leading the Wildcats, he guided the team to an Elite Eight appearance in the GHSA State Tournament—the program’s deepest run since winning the state championship in 1967.

With more than two decades of experience coaching boys basketball, Matt has earned multiple regional and state honors across Georgia, Missouri, and Florida. His passion for coaching and teaching has also led him to present at national conferences, including the ISACS Conference, the Summit for Transformative Learning, and the Midwest Education Technology Conference, on the intersections of coaching, teaching, and technology. Before Westminster, Matt served as Head Basketball Coach at Mt. Pisgah (GA), Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MO), Winter Park High School (FL), and Trinity Prep (GA).
